You have the option to connect to four cameras to the parent unit. In a setup with multiple cameras, you can utilize the scanning view to look at the footage from all cameras. During this scanning view, the Vox function can be activated. If no sound is detected by any camera, the parent unit will turn off. You can also manually turn off the display. Once the display is off, upon detection of a sound by one of the cameras, the parent unit will first display the image from the camera where the  sound was detected.
