Single-mode patchcord with a length of 30 meters, cable diameter of the order of 3mm, terminated with SC/APC-SC/APC connectors is used to connect optical network equipment like switches and converters. They are also widely used in FTTH networks for connecting OLT and ONU/ONT devices. In addition, these cables have a material classification of LSZH which means that their sheath is made of thermoplastic or thermosetting compounds that emit limited smoke and do not emit halogen when exposed to high heat sources.
