Vipow 6V/100Ah Gel Battery Gel batteries are an alternative to classic lead-acid batteries. Unlike the latter, gel batteries are maintenance-free, requiring no electrolyte top-up. Their sealed casing and gel electrolyte prevent leakage, allowing for any-position storage and increased shock resistance. Gel Battery Durability One of the biggest advantages of gel batteries is their lifespan. Properly used, they can last up to several years. They also exhibit greater resistance to varying and extreme weather conditions. Automatic Discharge (25°C) Gel batteries can be stored for many months without charging. Their capacity drops to: * 91% after 3 months * 82% after 6 months * 64% after 9 months Gel Battery Selection Proper dimensions are not everything. When choosing a battery, pay attention to its capacity – it should not be more than 110% or less than 90% of the capacity recommended for the device you plan to power. The output voltage must also be very close to the recommended value (+/-0.2 V). Gel Battery Applications Gel batteries are used in motorcycles, golf carts, and lawnmowers. They are also used in emergency power supplies, photovoltaic installations, alarm systems, and electric toys. Choose the Right Charger for Your Gel Battery For a charger to function correctly and not damage the battery, it must have appropriately selected current and voltage. These values will differ during various charging stages, so it's best to choose an automatic charger that adjusts the charging current and voltage and switches off when the battery is fully charged.
